Frequently asked questions
How do I become a mental health first aider?
To become a Mental Health First Aider you must complete our two day MHFA course. This course is the most comprehensive awareness and skills course available and is based on international research and evidence. Every course we deliver is led by a trained and qualified instructor who has completed a training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health. When you have completed the course, you will receive a certificate to confirm that you are a trained Mental Health First Aider.
What other courses are available, if we don't want the two-day course?
Mind // shift also offers the Mental Health Aware course - an introductory course that offers some basic skills and awareness for teams, wherever they work. We also have a half-day wellbeing course and can develop tailor-made courses too. In addition to this, for those who have already done the two-day course, we offer a half-day refresher.
Are any of your courses available online, as webinars?
Does mind // shift offer courses to individuals?
At present, we only offer in-house training to organisations who would like a group of people training. However we may deliver some courses for individuals to join in the future.
How much do you charge to deliver in-house training?
Every organisation is different and we can tailor a package precisely to meet your needs. Get in touch and we'd be happy to quote a cost for a one-off course or a series of courses.
Is your course the nationally accredited MHFA training course?
Yes! The two-day MHFA course offered by mind//shift is based on international evidence and is accredited by MHFA England. The Mental Health Aware and Half-day refreshers are also certified by MHFA England.
Mind//shift instructors provide a course that has been written by experts and grounded in research. Evaluation shows that MHFA courses make a lasting difference in people’s knowledge and confidence around mental health
