Giving a voice to our learners

Updated: Mar 11, 2021

I've always uncomfortable about asking our learners to 'review' their experience of our courses. During the time we spend together on a Mental Health First Aid course, learners stop being strangers and start being friends. We learn from each other, share stories and get to know each other quite well. It then feels odd to ask a friend to post a review. However, I was recently reminded that for those who have never taken part in this kind of learning experience before, it's all new to them. They want to know what it might be like from someone who has taken part and some reassurance that they are going to enjoy it. Mental health can be a sensitive topic for some and people need to know they are in safe hands, with trainers who care. That's why we've decided to partner with 'Trustpilot', so if anyone wants to, they can share their experience in an honest and unbiassed way. In doing this, we hope to learn and improve further and also give voice to those who have taken part in our courses. We appear to be one of the only Mental Health First Aid training providers who have put themselves up for this kind of online rating system, but I hope others will join us in future. Those looking for courses deserve a truly transparent way of choosing the right MHFA trainer for them. I hope that by working with Trustpilot we'll achieve this. It's early days and the reviews will take some time to come in, but we're looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say.
